It’s great to hear about new ventures and to be a part of something from the ground up.  At  squarepeg home we’re lucky to be involved with people who have a vision and who are excited about bringing new products and services to our lovely city.

Keep your eye out for this buggy little guy who you might see around your ‘Stomping Ground’ serving up great coffee and who knows what else….when we’ve finished with her that is.

Here is just a taster of what to expect…

Another clever Perth local…

…take a bow Karen Millar

Well we do love clever artistic people here at squarepeg… what people can make, particularly hand-make is quite amazing. Something that is tactile, beautiful in form and function – beautiful in its everyday-ness. That’s what we love about Karen Millar’s work. A pouring jug for cream, some morsel bowls for sharing, some family bowls for pasta or vegetables.

And lastly (but not necessarily least!) we love Karen’s work because it is handmade locally. Right here in Perth…hand crafted and hand selected!

…its a favourite!

The colour yellow is a favourite of mine – it catches your eye, its pure happiness is easy to see. The steel and american oak low coffee table ($540) is a steal, and matched with the large Freckle rug ($695) it brings a pop of colour indoors as the days are starting to shorten…

Or you could grasp some joy in your room with the Unfold pendant in yellow ($238). Its also a treat…

What are you looking for?

A new range of mid-century furniture at squarepeg home…

Some customers at squarepeg are purists. They love danish modern design and are collecting pieces that they fall in love with that melt their purist hearts. Others have more eclectic tastes – they might be searching for a quirky piece, a piece with a difference, with personality.  The common ground for all these people is a love of something a little unusual, or special.  This same desire draws us to hand select authentic vintage pieces. Attached are some pictures of our latest collection on the floor at squarepeg. We think we have something for both the purists and the eclectic sorts out there!

A mahogany dining set in immaculate condition designed by Ole Wanscher. Its an extendable table with six matching dining chairs.

A rare shelving and desk system in rosewood designed by Omann Jun. Consisting of two separate book shelves (either side) and a central desk area that folds away, its in perfect condition.

Just in are two matching rosewood bedside tables (both with two drawers).  Some things are hard to come by and then just don’t seem to hang around…including this vintage danish chair in original upholstery (it sold today).

Just back from restoration is this extendable dining table designed by Johannes Andersen in rosewood.

And lastly this mid-century storage system from the UK provides the perfect elegant answer for storage.

Artwork by Eveline Kotai

on show at squarepeg home

We are feeling so privileged to be showcasing some beautiful artwork by local Fremantle artist Eveline Kotai. Eveline has been exhibiting regularly for more than 30 years and her pictures look so beautiful on our white warehouse walls. Her work here at squarepeg home varies in medium from painted linen and wood, to stitched collages and painted pigment prints.

All the work presented at squarepeg home are from the artist’s stockroom…and they are all available for sale. Examples of Eveline’s work may be found in the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Artbank, Bankwest and many other significant collections in Western Australia.

Come in and check them out – we think you will like it.
